Lil Nas X Just Performed the Most Epic Dolly Parton Cover in BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge

Lil Nas X, aka everyone's favorite artist right now, just took to the iconic BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge stage. The singer performed his hit single and album title track "Montero (Call Me by Your Name)," along with two special tracks from the album, "Dead Right Now" and "That's What I Want."

As most seasoned Live Loungers know, the surprise cover is one of the most highly anticipated parts of a Live Lounge performance, and Lil Nas X's choice did not disappoint. Performing a completely unique twist on the ultimate classic, the singer decided to cover "Jolene" by queen of country Dolly Parton. "I chose this because I feel like this song is kind of like beautifully sad, you know? I like the little country twang, so I was like, 'Let me try this out,'" Lil Nas X said of his song choice. The cover was home effortless and showed off his vocal range perfectly, and honestly, it might just be our favorite version of the song yet (sorry, Adrianna from 90210).

The singer then went on to talk about his explosive music videos and his dream collaboration (spoiler alert: it's Rihanna, though he did also tease a potential collab with Lizzo), and he even cleared up the rumors about that baby-shower gift from former American President Barack Obama. Apparently, it happened, and the gift consisted of applesauce, nice clothes, and baby powder.

On being an LGBTQ+ icon, the singer said: "It feels great, but I guess I take everything with a grain of salt. Still, I'm thankful that people see me as an inspiration like that. I try not to start living my life by that, like living my life by making sure that people continue to see me as an inspiration." Watch Lil Nas X's Live Lounge performances ahead.

Emmys 2021

Emmys 2021 award winners: The Crown, Ted Lasso, The Queen's Gambit and more. The 73rd Primetime Emmys Awards are done and dusted. There were a few surprises, including The Queen's Gambit, which won two awards overall, taking NICE home best limited series, beating Mare of Easttown. Turns out chess is for everyone.

Harry Styles has kicked off his highly anticipated Love On Tour, to celebrate his 2019 album Fine Line. To the delight of fans in attendance, the performances to date have featured Harry in a custom pink fringe Gucci vest (among other fabulously Harry-esque looks) singing a roundup of Fine Line favorites including "Watermelon Sugar," the single with the early pandemic-released music video that had us all swooning during our collective quarantines. And being the gentleman that he is, he's even included "What Makes You Beautiful" on the set list, as a nod to the old-school Directioners.

Although these videos are obviously no replacement for seeing Harry live in concert, we've rounded up TikToks from Love On Tour that will show you exactly what all the hype is about. Watch Harry joke with fans, be wild on stage, and pump up the crowd with his incredible dance moves. Get ready to enter a strawberry lipstick state of mind!

Ben Affleck Praises J Lo's Strides For Latinx Representation: "I Am in Awe"

Ben Affleck can't help but sing Jennifer Lopez's praises from the mountaintops — well, in the pages of a magazine, to be more accurate. Just a few weeks after making their first joint red carpet appearance in 18 years at the Venice Film Festival, the rekindled couple were interviewed by Adweek to celebrate J Lo being honored with the publication's 2021 Brand Visionary Award. For the profile, Ben opened up about J Lo's recently announced efforts to financially support Latinx entrepreneurs via her Limitless Labs initiative, as well as her career's impact on women of color.

"All I can tell you is that I have seen firsthand the difference representation makes because I have seen, over and over and over and over, women of color approach Jennifer and tell her what her example as a strong woman and a woman succeeding and demanding her fair share in the business world means to them," Ben said. "I am in awe of what Jennifer's effect on the world is." He even went so far as to put her accomplishments on a pedestal above his.

"At most, as an artist, I can make movies that move people," Ben added. "Jennifer has inspired a massive group of people to feel they have a seat at the table in this country. That is an effect few people throughout history have had, one I will never know and one I can only stand by and admire with respect."
